How you know your team is in trouble: coach may be arrested for assult

Tom Cable, coach of the Raiders, may be arrested, some rumor mills are reporting.

Now, this already wasn't the Raiders season. But something tells me that having the coach arrested wouldn't help. Not to mention that I feel as though Goodell would frown upon such an action and probably bar him from coaching (at least if Goodell is at all consistent, he would).

I feel like Mangini and Oakland are destined someday. Who knows? That day could come sooner than I thought (he sure isn't going to be in Cleveland very long at this rate).

Rodney Harrison opens mouth, spews truth

This is his take on the Seymour trade:

"He's not thrilled," said Harrison, now an analyst for NBC's Football Night in America. "Who would be thrilled to go to the Oakland Raiders? Maybe somebody who's happy to just get a chance but not a guy like Richard Seymour, a five-time Pro Bowler. For a veteran player to go to Oakland at this juncture it's just difficult.

"Put yourself in his position," Harrison added. "He's going from a first-class organization to one of the worst in the NFL. You have the head coach fighting the assistant coaches, the owner involved in the day-to-day operations, guys who don't believe in the quarterback. . . . Tom Brady to JaMarcus Russell? Come on. Is that something to look forward to? Why would he be excited?"

Asked if Seymour would report to the Raiders, Harrison said, "I don't know that. Only Richard knows that. But I wouldn't go to Oakland. There's no way in the world I would go to Oakland. The only way I would report is if they promised they wouldn't franchise me after this year."

So as of today, Seymour still hasn't reported. I'm having a kind of cruddy day and continue to remind myself that it could be worse. I was not traded to the Raiders. That is a pretty low bar to set, I know, but who would want to go?

Richard Seymour traded

Whoa. As in, 'Lois, that is not my Batman glass' whoa.

Richard Seymour was traded today, meaning that basically no one is coming back on the Patriots' D. I think that's what it means. I'm hard pressed to name anyone beyond Mayo. At the same time, many of us have noted in previous years that our defense was getting old and sloppy, so maybe it is time to change it up. At least we have corners now...I hope!

We got a 1st round draft pick out of it for 2011. Which isn't bad. Unless the Raiders suddenly get it together, which seems unlikely, what with their coaching staff physically attacking each other and such.

Also, whenever you are having a bad day, you can just feel better that you didn't learn you were traded to the Oakland Raiders. Because I'm having a moderately annoying day and that thought is basically keeping me going.
